About Lil Moo
Lil Moo is a 2-year-old Shar Pei cross German Wirehaired Pointer who is affectionate, loyal, energetic, and requires a family with specific training and care needs.
Moo is highly affectionate and easily excited, greeting everyone with a full-body wiggle and enthusiasm. She can jump in her excitement, so her family must remind her to keep four paws on the ground. Her joyful nature makes her a loving and expressive companion.
Moo loves fetch and tug-of-war, showing enthusiasm but sometimes using too much strength. She is food-motivated, eager to please, and responds well to verbal corrections. Proper training and consistent boundaries are essential to manage her energy and behaviour.
Moo enjoys cuddling in bed and sleeping at the foot of the bed for security. She is a good sleeper but may wake to alert her family of noises outside. She loves car rides and prefers to ride in the front seat.
Moo enjoys walks focused on sniffing and mental stimulation rather than endurance. She walks well on a leash but is strong and needs a sturdy harness. She can be reactive to other dogs and needs space during walks. Moo naturally barks at passersby and animals, serving as a home protector. She requires training to manage her vocal tendencies and know when to be quiet. Her guarding instincts make her alert but manageable with positive reinforcement.
She has had positive interactions with dogs of all sizes. She has not been tested living with a cat.
Moo bonds deeply with her family and can experience separation anxiety. She thrives with someone who is home often or works from home. Enrichment activities and food puzzles help her stay calm when alone.
Moo seeks a family that can include her in daily activities and provide patience and boundaries. She benefits from a canine companion for company and emotional support. A family committed to training and understanding her needs will be most successful.
