Some dogs are happy to go with the flow…
And then there's Gucci, who would like to speak to management about the flow, the schedule, the dinner arrangements and why his harness isn't ready yet! 🤣
One look at this handsome little man and you can see he's adorable. Spend five minutes with him, and you'll quickly realise he's also cute, sassy, full of character and quite possibly the funniest little supervisor you'll ever meet!
Gucci came into our care through no fault of his own, and this 7.9kg bundle of personality is now looking for a family to call his own. ❤️
Gucci is a pretty chilled little gentleman for most of the day. He's quite happy to snooze away, soak up the sunshine and relax wherever he finds the comfiest spot.
Bed? Absolutely.
Couch? Naturally.
Dog bed? If he feels like it.
Sunny patch? Don't mind if he does.
His human's bed? Now we're talking! 👑
Gucci loves a cuddle with his people before retreating to his chosen spot for the night. And on cold mornings, don't expect him to leap out of bed in a hurry. He's a Pekingese, not an Olympic athlete! 😂
Unless he hears food being prepared…
Then suddenly, he's wide awake, fully operational and ready to supervise the kitchen staff!
And goodness help you if dinner is running behind schedule. Gucci has a little voice and he's not afraid to use it when something important, like his meal, is being delayed. 🍽️🤣
Gucci believes good service starts at home, and frankly, his staff need to lift their game!
He's also a fan of walks and will happily remind you when you've taken too long to get his harness and lead ready. He can enjoy walks of up to around 1.5km, is good on lead and may give passing dogs a little bark as they go by.
He also LOVES car trips and holidays, so if you're looking for a little travel companion, Gucci is ready to pack his bags! 🚗🐾
Of course, being a Pekingese means Gucci comes with all the important royal requirements. He likes things done his way, appreciates his personal space and isn't particularly interested in pushy puppies or dogs who think licking his face is an acceptable greeting.
Honestly, Gucci. Boundaries are important! 😂
He's currently living happily with dogs of different sizes and ages and could share his home with a compatible canine companion or be perfectly happy as the only dog. He's been around children throughout his life and enjoys cuddles on his terms. Cats? He's not been tested, so we can't say how he'd feel about sharing his kingdom with one!
Now, beneath all that confidence and sass is the sweetest little boy. ❤️
Gucci loves being near his humans and will happily follow you around the house, keeping you company and ensuring you're never doing anything without supervision. He enjoys belly rubs, treats, toys and occasional wrestling sessions with his furry friends.
When he's excited, particularly about walks or dinner, he sometimes does the most adorable little bunny hops. Because apparently, being a king doesn't mean you can't have a few silly moments! 🐰😂
He's toilet trained, uses a doggy door and is happy to spend time in a crate or pen with the door open. But please don't tell him he's crate trained. Gucci likes to believe he simply has a range of luxury accommodation options available to him, and he chooses where to stay! 🤣
And then we get to the beauty department…
Gucci needs regular grooming to keep his handsome Pekingese coat looking its best. Thankfully, he's quite happy to travel in the car, and grooming appointments mean attention on him, which is always a bonus!
A little tidy-up at home is also fine, but nail clipping requires a more sophisticated strategy.
His foster family has discovered the secret weapon: dog-friendly peanut butter spread on cling wrap around a willing human's head! 🥜😂
Yes, really.
While the human becomes a walking peanut butter lick mat, Gucci enjoys his snack and his nails get clipped. It's a win for everyone… although we're not sure the human's dignity survives the experience! 🤣
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has also completed all of Gucci's veterinary work, including his dental and some dental extractions, so he's ready to concentrate on finding his forever family.
Gucci is low-maintenance in many ways, but he certainly isn't short on personality. He's affectionate, funny, relaxed and full of those little quirks that make you laugh out loud.
He'll cuddle you, keep you company, supervise your daily activities and occasionally remind you that you're not meeting his standards.
And somehow, you'll love him even more for it. ❤️
Gucci's foster family knows he's a little treasure, and now it's time for someone else to discover just how much love, laughter and sass this little man has to offer.

- Your dog can travel to the carers location

Adoption details
Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
