About Winston
🐾🤎 Meet Winston 🤎🐾
3 years and 9 months of floppy ears, endless naps, random bursts of zoomies, and one very important life philosophy...
"Why stress when you could have a cuddle instead?" ❤️
Winston is a gorgeous Cocker Spaniel who has come into care through absolutely no fault of his own. Since arriving in foster care, he's shown everyone exactly what a gentle, easy-going and incredibly lovable boy he is.
If dogs had life mottos...
Winston's would probably be...
"She'll be right." 😆
Seriously...
Nothing seems to bother this boy.
In fact, when Winston recently visited the vet, he was so incredibly relaxed that the vet actually paused to double-check his heartbeat because he was just that calm.
No stress.
No drama.
No fuss.
Just Winston being Winston.
Then... every now and again...
Something magical happens.
Out of absolutely nowhere...
The zoomies arrive.
One minute he's peacefully snoozing on the couch...
The next he's tearing around the yard with a soft toy proudly hanging from his mouth, convinced he's the fastest dog alive.
The zoomie session usually lasts somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes.
Then...
Mission accomplished.
Back to the couch for another nap.
It's a lifestyle many of us could probably learn from. 😂
There is, however, one thing Winston takes very seriously...
Dinner time.
If you've ever wondered what the highlight of Winston's day is...
There's absolutely no competition.
It's food. 🍽️😂
The moment he hears dinner being prepared, those sleepy eyes suddenly spring to life, his tail starts wagging, and for a few wonderful minutes the world's most relaxed dog becomes hilariously excited.
For a boy who spends most of the day looking like nothing could possibly bother him, his enthusiasm at mealtimes is absolutely priceless.
Thankfully, it's a very short-lived burst of excitement.
Once dinner has been enthusiastically devoured...
The excitement is over.
The tail slows down.
The eyelids get heavy again.
And Winston happily resumes his regularly scheduled program of relaxing, napping and quietly enjoying life.
Life, according to Winston, really is that simple.
Winston absolutely adores being wherever his people are.
If you're inside...
He's inside.
If you're outside...
He's outside.
If you're sitting on the couch...
Well... you've just gained a very fluffy shadow.
He isn't crate trained because, quite honestly, Winston would much rather be curled up beside you, touching you if possible, enjoying another well-earned nap.
And he's exceptionally good at naps.
Professional level, in fact.
When Winston isn't catching up on his beauty sleep, he's busy collecting cuddles.
He absolutely melts for belly rubs and once he feels comfortable with someone, he showers them with affection.
He doesn't discriminate either.
Adults.
Children.
Visitors.
If you're kind and willing to offer a cuddle, Winston is happy to add you to his friendship circle.
Winston also loves other dogs.
He's currently sharing his foster home with both a tiny Chihuahua puppy and a giant Mastiff, and he happily snuggles with both.
Size simply doesn't matter to Winston.
Everyone is a potential nap buddy.
Although he could happily live as an only dog, Winston does take confidence from other friendly dogs, so we'd love to see him in a home with a calm canine companion who can continue helping him build confidence and enjoy life's little adventures.
One thing Winston has mastered...
Is fetching.
Well...
Half of it.
He'll happily chase after a toy with great enthusiasm.
Returning it?
That's apparently your responsibility.
In Winston's world, fetch is actually a game where you chase him, and honestly, he thinks it's brilliant. 🤣
He enjoys going for walks and walks beautifully on lead.
Busy crowds can occasionally make him feel a little unsure, but with a few reassuring words from his favourite person, he quickly remembers everything is okay and happily continues exploring.
Sniffing every interesting smell along the way is, of course, non-negotiable.
Around the home, Winston is wonderfully quiet.
You'll barely hear a bark from him.
He's toilet trained, although like most dogs, he may have the occasional accident while settling into a new home and learning a new routine.
He's also a perfect gentleman for the groomer, making those regular Cocker Spaniel pamper sessions nice and easy.
More than anything, Winston is simply a beautiful soul.
He's gentle.
Kind.
Goofy.
Affectionate.
And wonderfully uncomplicated.
He doesn't ask for much.
A comfy couch.
A few walks.
Someone to cuddle.
A soft toy to parade around for ten minutes before collapsing into another nap.
A good dinner.
And people to love.
Life, according to Winston, really is that simple.
🤎 If you're looking for a Cocker Spaniel who will make you smile with his random zoomies, warm your heart with his gentle, carefree nature, and happily spend the rest of the day snuggled beside you, Winston may just be the perfect addition to your family.
🐾 Professional nap enthusiast.
🍽️ Dinner-time superfan.
🧸 Soft-toy collector.
💨 Ten-minute zoomie specialist.
🥹 Full-time cuddle expert.
❤️ Ready to spend the rest of his life exactly where he belongs—with a family to love forever.
