Meet Diesel, an absolute darling of a boy who is just a month shy of his fourth birthday. At 3 years and 11 months old, this stunning American Staffordshire Terrier has found himself in the shelter through no fault of his own after being surrendered into our care. Behind those big, soulful eyes is a dog who is very, very cute and has a heart that is very, very sweet-he is just waiting for the right person to see past the shelter walls and give him the chance he so deeply deserves.

The bustling shelter life has been a little stressful for this gentle guy, and it breaks our hearts to see him waiting. Because of the change in his environment, Diesel can be a little unsure of unfamiliar people when he first meets them. However, if you give him just a brief moment, he warms up incredibly quickly once he feels comfortable and safe. Once that barrier melts away, you are rewarded with a fiercely loyal, affectionate companion who will want nothing more than to be by your side.

Diesel is a clever boy who is great on the lead and already responds beautifully to training, showing just how eager he is to please. He has so much love to give and would make a wonderful addition to a family with secondary school-aged children and older who can understand his initial shyness. He may also be suitable to share his home with another canine companion, pending a meet-and-greet at the shelter.

Beautiful dogs of Diesel's breed often get overlooked and take a much longer time to find their forever homes, but we know his perfect match is out there.
