About Yankee
Yankee is a beautiful, well mannered girl with a wonderful temperament. She is incredibly respectful, eager to please, and listens well. Yankee loves spending time with other dogs and enjoys a good play session, she is just as happy soaking up attention from people.
She has been exposed to cats and, while she may try to initiate play, she responds well to guidance and will stop chasing when told. Yankee is crate trained, travels beautifully in the car, and has been learning recall, responding enthusiastically to "Pup, pup, pup!"
Yankee already knows commands such as sit and spin, and she is a quick learner who enjoys engaging with those around her.
Her personality is the perfect mix of affectionate and playful. She is a very snuggly girl who loves cuddles and relaxing, but she is also full of beans and always ready for a game when the opportunity arises. One of Yankee's most endearing qualities is how devoted she is to being near people. She loves being involved in whatever is going on around her and will happily follow people from room to room, always wanting to be close by. A little shadow dog, she's often found right at your feet, whether you're relaxing at home or busy with daily tasks.
Once she has had her exercise and playtime, Yankee settles down beautifully. She absolutely loves to lounge around and relax. She is comfortable spending time in the backyard on her own and is generally very content. She may have a quick bark at the door for a few minutes when left, but she responds well to correction and settles down quickly.
Yankee would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving, playful, and well behaved dog who enjoys both adventures and quiet cuddle time. She has a gentle nature, enjoys the company of both people and dogs, and is ready to become a cherished member of her forever family.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
