If you are looking for a kitten who is equal parts teddy bear, comedian, and cuddle bug, then Gizmo may just steal your heart. Gizmo has the sweetest, goofiest personality and a gentle nature that makes everyone fall in love with him. His foster mum thinks he is just a little bit special.

Gizmo has mild cerebellar hyperplasia, which gives him a cautious little walk at times, almost like he is carefully inspecting the world around him. But once the playful kitten inside takes over, he is off chasing balls, pouncing on ribbon wands, and making everyone laugh with his silly antics.

Because Gizmo can be a little short-sighted, he appreciates people approaching him calmly and slowly so he does not get startled. The same goes for cuddles and pick-ups - gentle and reassuring wins his heart every time. Once he feels safe, he absolutely melts into you and becomes the cuddliest little companion imaginable. He adores company, but is also perfectly content taking himself away for a long afternoon nap before returning in the evening ready for playtime, cuddles, and attention.

More than anything, Gizmo is looking for a family who will appreciate his unique little personality, his gentle heart, and the joy he brings simply by being himself. He may wobble through life a little differently, but to the people lucky enough to know him, Gizmo is absolutely perfect just the way he is!

Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
Gizmo truly has no grumpy bones in his body. He is friendly with everyone he meets, both furry and human. Because of his calm and easy-going personality, Gizmo would likely do well with respectful children who understand the importance of being gentle and patient with him.

He also gets along beautifully with the other foster kittens in the household, ranging from tiny 8-week-old babies right up to older 6-month-old kittens. Gizmo is gentle, social, and simply fits in wherever he goes.

He is currently living with a medium-sized dog and takes it all in stride, happily sharing his home and space.

Likes / Dislikes

❌ Dislikes anyone coming up to him fast, approach slowly and he will know you are there.

My PURR-fect home would be a calm, loving home where I can feel safe, adored, and included as part of the family. I would happily live with other friendly pets, but would also be perfectly content as an only cat, provided I have plenty of human companionship. A home where someone works from home or is around regularly would suit me beautifully, especially because I love evening play sessions and cosy cuddle time after a day full of naps.

Perth Rescue Angels recommends all cats are indoor only, unless they have access to a secure cat enclosure.

Medical Notes: Gizmo likely has cerebellar hypoplasia where his cerebellum did not develop fully, and as a result he has some mild coordination issues. The vet predicts his symptoms will not get any worse, and as his gets older his will learn to cope with them better.

Gizmo is FIV and FelV negative.
