About Dolly
🐾❤️ Meet Dolly ❤️🐾
5 years and 7 months of snuggles, snoozes, belly rubs and a heart that's just waiting for someone to show her the world isn't so scary.
If you're looking for a French Bulldog who wants nothing more than to be your little shadow, then we'd love you to meet Dolly.
Dolly came into our care through a private surrender after her family welcomed a new baby into their home. Unfortunately, Dolly found the changes difficult to cope with, and her family made the heartbreaking decision to find her a home that could better meet her needs.
Despite everything she's been through, Dolly has so much love to give. Beneath her worried little exterior is an incredibly affectionate girl who simply wants to feel safe, loved and included in every part of your day.
If you're moving around the house...
Dolly will be right behind you.
If you're sitting on the couch...
She'll be curled up beside you.
If you're having a lazy Sunday...
Dolly is more than happy to spend it snoozing right alongside you.
She isn't just looking for a family...
She's looking for her person.
Like many French Bulldogs, Dolly absolutely adores comfort. The couch is one of her favourite places in the house, especially if she can watch the world go by through the window. If there's something soft to lie on, she'll happily claim it as her own—even if that's the laundry basket!
And if you stop to give her a belly rub...
Well... you've just become her favourite person.
Dolly also has a rather entertaining love of television.
She'll happily watch TV with the family, although if another dog appears on the screen... don't be surprised if she suddenly decides she'd quite like to introduce herself! Safe to say, keeping the remote just out of reach is probably a wise idea. 😂
Although Dolly enjoys relaxing, she also loves getting out for her daily walks. Around 30 minutes each day helps her burn off some energy, and afterwards she's perfectly content to spend the rest of the day napping beside her humans.
Since coming into foster care, Dolly has already shown that she's capable of learning and growing.
She can be an anxious girl and, because of this, can be reactive towards other dogs and occasionally unfamiliar people. Her foster family have found that quieter walking times and giving her plenty of space from others has helped her confidence grow, and they've already seen wonderful improvements.
She'll need a family who understands that building confidence takes time, patience and consistency.
In return, you'll gain one of the most loyal little companions you could ever hope to meet.
❤️ Dolly's Perfect Home
One of the most important things to know about Dolly is that she is looking for a home where she can be the only pet.
While we are optimistic that continued positive training will continue to build her confidence, Dolly simply isn't comfortable living with other dogs. She is happiest when she doesn't have to share her home, her space or her favourite humans.
For Dolly to truly relax and thrive, she needs a family where she can be the centre of someone's world.
For this reason, Dolly is looking for a home with:
❤️ No other dogs
❤️ No cats
❤️ No small animals
Dolly would also be best suited to a home with children aged 13 years and over, or an adult-only household. While she has lived with children previously, Dolly is an anxious girl and finds the unpredictability, noise and busy nature of younger children overwhelming. Older children who understand when she needs a little space and can respect her boundaries would be a much better match, allowing Dolly to continue building her confidence and feel safe in her home.
Dolly isn't looking for perfection.
She isn't looking for endless adventures.
She's simply looking for someone who'll understand that sometimes the bravest dogs are the ones who just need a little extra reassurance.
Someone who'll continue helping her feel safe.
Someone who'll celebrate the little wins.
Someone who'll love her exactly as she is.
Because once Dolly trusts you...
She'll love you with her whole heart.
If you're looking for a loyal little sidekick who'll happily follow you from room to room, snuggle beside you on the couch, remind you when it's time for belly rubs and become your biggest fan, Dolly may just be the girl you've been waiting for.
❤️ Dolly deserves a family who'll give her the chance to leave her worries behind, continue building her confidence, and finally be someone's one and only.
🐾 Professional cuddle companion.
📺 TV critic (especially if dogs are involved).
🛋️ Champion couch potato.
🥰 Belly rub enthusiast.
❤️ Ready to be the centre of someone's world... and she promises she'll make you the centre of hers forever.
