Meet Mei Mei

At just two years old, Mei Mei has already experienced more uncertainty than any cat should.

This beautiful tabby girl was found abandoned in a colony in the Bankstown area, despite being clearly socialised and accustomed to living with people. Friendly, affectionate cats like Mei Mei are particularly vulnerable when left to fend for themselves, but thankfully she found her way into rescue and has never looked back.

Mei Mei is the definition of a companion cat. She absolutely adores people and will happily follow you from room to room, supervising your daily activities and making sure you’re never alone. Whether you’re working, watching TV, cooking dinner, or simply relaxing on the lounge, Mei Mei wants to be right there beside you.

A champion lap warmer and enthusiastic purr machine, Mei Mei thrives on affection and human connection. She loves cuddles, enjoys being involved in whatever you’re doing, and has a calm, easy-going nature that makes her a delight to live with.

Mei Mei is also relaxed around other cats and settles well into a multi-cat environment. Her gentle temperament means she’s not interested in confrontation and would suit a peaceful household where she can continue enjoying the comfortable life she now knows and loves.

Mei Mei is FIV positive, but don’t let that scare you. FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is not a death sentence, and with appropriate care, FIV-positive cats can live long, happy, healthy lives. Since coming into care, Mei Mei has received dental treatment to support her health and is now thriving in a calm, loving environment. She is otherwise a healthy, happy young cat with many wonderful years ahead of her.

For homes with existing cats, FIV vaccination is available and can be discussed with your veterinarian. Additionally, FIV is most commonly spread through deep bite wounds associated with serious fighting. Mei Mei’s calm and non-aggressive nature significantly reduces this risk, making her a suitable companion in many households.
