About Louis
🐾 Meet Louis 🐾
Louis is a 1 year and 8 month old Toy Poodle who has come into care through a private surrender through absolutely no fault of his own.
If you're looking for a dog who will love you with every fibre of his being, follow you from room to room, and make you feel like the most important person in the world... then Louis may just be your perfect match 💙
This adorable little man is the definition of a companion dog.
He doesn't just enjoy being with his people.
He NEEDS to be with his people.
Louis wants to know what you're doing, where you're going, whether snacks are involved, and if there's any chance he can come too 😆
Whether you're folding washing, watching television, making dinner, working from home, or simply walking to another room, you can expect Louis to be right there beside you.
His foster family affectionately describe him as a little shadow, and it couldn't be more accurate.
At just under two years old, Louis is still young, playful, and full of enthusiasm for life. He's a happy little soul who wakes up every day excited about whatever adventure might be coming next.
A walk? Amazing.
A car ride? Even better.
A tummy rub? Absolute perfection.
Louis loves his walks and happily trots along beside you, always keen to explore. He's wonderful in the car, settles beautifully overnight in his crate, and genuinely enjoys being included in family life.
He is also incredibly affectionate and thrives on human connection. One of his favourite things in the world is curling up beside his people for cuddles after a busy day.
And tummy rubs?
Those are non-negotiable ❤️
Like many clever Poodles, Louis has a cheeky streak.
Socks are a favourite treasure.
Undies are highly sought after.
Children's toys occasionally disappear.
And if something has gone missing, there's a very good chance Louis knows exactly where it is 😂
Thankfully, his adorable face makes it very difficult to stay annoyed with him for long.
Louis is wonderful with children and currently lives with children aged 7 and 10. He adores being part of the family and greets everyone with genuine excitement when they come home.
To Louis, every family member returning home is cause for celebration.
He also loves praise, food, attention, and being told what a good boy he is—which, to be fair, happens quite often.
While Louis enjoys the company of people, he can be a little selective about other dogs. He is comfortable around smaller dogs and has enjoyed spending time with dogs similar to his own size, but larger dogs can make him feel uncomfortable when out on walks.
For this reason, we feel he would be best suited as an only dog or with a calm, friendly small canine companion.
Louis can also be a bit of a neighbourhood commentator. If left outside, he may bark at people walking past the house or at dogs in neighbouring yards. He takes his role as street supervisor quite seriously and likes to keep everyone informed of what's happening around him 😆
Louis is toilet trained, although his foster family would like it noted that bean bags occasionally seem to confuse him 🤣
Like many young dogs, he can also be a little busy and sometimes struggles to completely switch off unless he's cuddled up beside his humans.
What Louis really needs is a home where he will be included.
A home where someone is around more often than not.
A home that understands he isn't an independent dog who wants to spend his days alone in the backyard.
He's a people dog.
A heart dog.
The kind of dog who forms deep bonds and loves his family completely.
Louis isn't looking for perfection.
He's looking for connection.
And in return, he'll give his future family endless affection, unwavering loyalty, plenty of laughs, and enough cuddles to last a lifetime.

- Your current dogs vaccinations up-to-date and have a copy of the certificate to send thru (please contact your vet asap if you don't have a copy)
- Your dog can travel to the carers location
- You are available to attend the meet and greet within the next 7 days

Adoption details
Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
