Meet Otto, a beautiful little Chihuahua puppy with a soft nature and the sweetest face.
Born on 25 March 2026, Otto is the biggest puppy in a litter of three, weighing 1.1 kg at 6 weeks. He is still only a tiny toy-breed baby, but he is expected to grow into a small, sturdy Chihuahua rather than an exceptionally tiny one.
Otto’s colouring is a lovely light caramel cream, with soft pale tones that suit his gentle little personality perfectly.
Chihuahuas may be small, but they are clever, loyal and full of character. They often bond very closely with their people and love being included in daily life — whether that means curling up on a lap, following you around the house, or supervising family activities from a cosy spot.
Otto is a soft-hearted little chap. He is definitely not the boss of the litter and will suit a kind, patient home where he can feel safe, loved and gently encouraged as he grows in confidence.
As with all puppies, Otto will need patient guidance, gentle handling, socialisation, toilet training and clear routines. Because he is so small, he is not suited to rough handling or a busy home with very young children. His ideal home will be one where his tiny size is respected and he is protected from accidental injury.
Otto has had his first vaccination, with his second vaccination due on 6 June 2026. Until he has completed his puppy vaccination course, he must not be taken to public places frequented by unknown dogs, including parks, footpaths, pet stores, markets or cafes.
Otto is available for adoption under Southern Downs ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program.
His adoption fee includes the cost of his desexing, subject to the terms and conditions of the program. His adopter will be required to enter into a Deferred Desexing Adoption Contract and ensure that Otto is desexed in accordance with that agreement.
Otto must not be used for breeding.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
