Meet Enzo, a tiny Chihuahua baby with a sweet little face and a whole lot of growing, learning and loving still to do.
Born on 25 March 2026, Enzo is still very much a baby puppy. At just 1.05 kg when he had his first vaccination on 6 May, he is a very small boy and will need a home that understands the care required for toy breed puppies.
Chihuahuas may be small, but they are real little dogs with real little opinions. They are known for being bright, affectionate, loyal and full of character. Many bond very closely with their chosen people and love being part of daily life. They often enjoy curling up on a lap, following their person from room to room, and being included as much-loved members of the family.
As with all puppies, Enzo will need patient guidance, gentle handling, socialisation, toilet training and clear routines as he grows. Because he is so tiny, he is not suited to rough handling or a busy home with very young children. His ideal home will be one where he can be safely loved, gently trained and protected from accidental injury.
Enzo will also need ongoing vaccination and parasite prevention as advised by his adopter’s vet. He has had his first vaccination, with his next vaccination due on 6 June 2026. Until he has completed his puppy vaccination course, he must not be taken to public places frequented by unknown dogs, including parks, footpaths, pet stores, markets or cafes.
Enzo is available for adoption under Southern Downs ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program.
His adoption fee includes the cost of his desexing, subject to the terms and conditions of the program. His adopter will be required to enter into a Deferred Desexing Adoption Contract and ensure that Enzo is desexed in accordance with that agreement. He must not be used for breeding.
Enzo is looking for a safe, loving home where his small size will be respected and his big little personality can shine.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
