About Benny
Benny is a happy boy who absolutely loves his people and thrives in a calm, predictable home environment. When Benny first arrived at BARRC, he was completely shut down and lacked confidence, but with patience, routine, and care, he has slowly blossomed into a loving and playful companion.
He enjoys a daily walk, although he’s also content to skip a day here and there. Benny loves his naps and will happily claim a spot on the couch if allowed!
Benny has become a lovely dog to walk and now spends most of his walks on a loose lead. He especially enjoys stopping to sniff and explore his surroundings. He can still be a little concerned when he sees unfamiliar people or dogs and may need some gentle encouragement to keep moving. His future owners will need to continue his training and socialisation to help build his confidence in the community.
Benny loves being the centre of attention and soaks up all the pats and affection he can get. He has also discovered a love for toys and enjoys having zoomies at least twice a day. He’s happy entertaining himself but also loves having someone throw toys around for him to chase.
Benny is still working on his manners, particularly around food, and may jump up or gently mouth when excited. Since coming into care with no prior training, he has already learnt “sit” and “down” and is making great progress.
Despite previously living next to loud, barking neighbours, Benny never barked back and has shown himself to be a quiet, relaxed companion in the home.
