About Joa
Hello there! I'm Joa, and I'm officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR JOA
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

My Ideal Home: Im happy to go to a home with or without other dogs, I would love a family who will let me inside to cuddle on the lounge of an evening.
• Familiarity and understanding of my breed traits would be highly valued.
• I want to be part of the family indoors - not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I'd love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• Regular grooming and brushing will keep me looking and feeling my best.
• Most importantly, I'm looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• Because I can be shy in new situations, I would be best suited to a home with children over 12yrd of age.
• Because I may have had a sheltered start and can be shy in new situations, continued socialisation will really help build my confidence. I'm already becoming braver at the shelter!
• I love other dogs! I'm playful, so I'd thrive with a dog who matches my enthusiasm.
• I find boisterous dogs overwhelming and will try to get away from them so a calmer but playful companion is best for me (ideally female)
• I am also happy to go to a home on my own where I can have all of the attention and lounge to myself.
• With a slow and thoughtful introduction, I may be able to live with a gentle, quiet cat.
My Paw-some Perks: I know all of my commands: sit, shake, stay, come, wait, lay down and roll-over
• I'm a very playful, happy boy with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I'm excited.
• I'm generally a well-mannered dog. I am a VERY smart boy and know my basic commands like sit, shake, stay, come, wait, roll-over, lay down and I'm always eager to learn more.
• I'm very social and happy to hang out with other friendly dogs - total social butterfly!
• I love attention, cuddles, head scratches, and I'm quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I LOVE toys - especially my ball and teddies.
Training & Support Needs:
• Once I'm settled, I can walk nicely but I can be a strong boy on lead, so a harness or head halter would really help while I continue my training.
• I'm abit unsure in new environments with new people although it doesn't take long for my true personality to shine I will need a patient family who will allow me indoors, move at my pace, and gently build my confidence through ongoing socialisation.
• I may show some resource guarding of high value treats such as bones/pig ears ect. So if going to a home with another dog I will need to be fed separately to them.
Please Note: You'll only be able to meet Joa if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
