About Benny - 8 Week Old Kelpie
Benny is a very sweet natured, gentle, intelligent little pup. He is a happy, easy-going boy which makes looking after him an absolute pleasure.
Benny had a rough start to life and can be timid in new situations but, with some gentle reassurance, he is very friendly and playful. Being a working breed that is energetic and highly intelligent, Benny will need an owner that understands the important of regular exercise and mental stimulation.
Benny is a healthy pup who has been raised in a home environment. He has been well socialised with other puppies and adult dogs and gets on with them all. He can be shy at first but is friendly and affectionate with people. He loves romping with his sister then loves to cuddle on your lap or have a nap. He sleeps through the night and has learnt go to the toilet on the pee pads. Benny just wants to please and, with his high intelligence, he will be easy to train. We recommend puppy training classes to give him the best start in life.
Benny is friendly with other dogs but adores the company of humans and would make an amazing companion dog or family member for an active family.
Benny needs to be welcome inside and be part of the family and to sleep inside. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can’t go to rural fencing (e.g. mesh or wire).

His adoption fee is $800, which includes desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms and is microchipped.
He is currently in foster care in Pokolbin, NSW. As he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption within the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland, Cessnock, Upper Hunter including Singleton and Muswellbrook), as well as the Central Coast and Sydney. He will need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing by 6 months.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we
can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster
carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal
cheques.
