About Astro
🐾 Meet Astro 🐾
Astro is a 3 Years & 9 Months Old Shih Tzu X
💙 Astro is a Professional Hall Monitor & Tiny Gentleman 💙
Astro is the kind of dog that quietly sneaks into your heart and suddenly becomes part of absolutely everything you do 🥹
This sweet little man is more “old soul in a fluffy body” than wild party puppy. He’s the perfect mix of chilled-out companion, tiny household supervisor, and lovable little character.
Astro’s ideal day looks something like this:
💤 Sleep in somewhere comfy
🍖 Supervise snack preparation in the kitchen
🚶 Enjoy a polite little walk
🚗 Hope someone grabs the car keys
🧸 Play tug-of-war with his toys
👀 Check every family member is still alive and accounted for
🛋 Relax near his humans for the evening
Honestly, Astro believes it is his personal responsibility to quietly monitor the household at all times 😂
You’ll often find him sleeping in the hallway between bedrooms so he can keep an eye on everyone, following the “chef” around the kitchen to ensure dinner preparation standards are being maintained, or sitting loyally beside the lounge while the family relaxes for the night.
And when he’s extra tired?
He simply tucks himself into bed like the little gentleman he is 💙
Astro is mostly toilet trained and generally a very good boy, although rainy weather can occasionally create some negotiation issues because apparently wet feet are simply unacceptable 😆
He’s not an overly energetic dog and is much more about companionship than chaos. He enjoys walks and is beautifully behaved on lead, happily strolling beside you like a tiny fluffy gentleman. Some days he’s ready to do the whole block… and other days he suddenly remembers he’s actually retired from athletic activities and would rather head home 😂
Astro gets along well with dogs his own size and smaller and really enjoys having company around. He would likely do best in a home where someone is around more often than not, or with another friendly companion animal to keep him company.
At mealtimes, Astro does like everyone to acknowledge that food is a very serious matter. He prefers being fed first like the distinguished little king he believes he is 👑 but is otherwise very happy to coexist peacefully with other dogs.
One of Astro’s favourite games is “catch me if you can” in the backyard, which is adorable and hilarious… although probably best kept as a fenced-yard-only activity 😅
He absolutely loves toys, chew bones, car rides, and anything involving snacks. In fact, food is one of the quickest ways to win Astro’s heart, and he has already learnt commands like sit and drop thanks to his enthusiasm for treats.
Astro can initially bark a little when adjusting to a new environment or being left alone, but once he settles and feels safe, he becomes a very content and relaxed little companion.
Grooming-wise, Astro will need regular grooming and haircuts to keep his fluffy coat comfortable and manageable. He tolerates grooming reasonably well… although he will absolutely let you know when he feels the spa appointment has gone on long enough 😆
More than anything, Astro is just a beautiful companion dog. He wants to be near his people, included in daily life, and loved for the quirky, funny, affectionate little character that he is.
If you’re looking for a sweet little shadow with a huge personality, excellent household supervision skills, and the ability to melt into your daily routine like he’s always belonged there… Astro may just be your perfect match 💙

Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.

Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.

INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
