About Nora
Despite having a difficult start to life as a stray kitten, Nora has grown into a loving, playful little girl who is now ready to find her forever home.
Life on the street as a kitten was not kind to Nora, she suffered from cat flu (feline herpes virus) but due to not getting any help in time, Nora has permanent abnormal looking eyes. Luckily she was eventually brought in by a kind stranger and able to be seen by some of the top Veterinary Ophthalmologists in Australia - the good news is that apart looking a bit different, Nora's eyes are functioning fine and require no treatment.
The specialists do not expect her to need any eye intervention in the future and her flu symptoms have resolved after a course of medication.
Nora does have slightly reduced vision but you would not be able to tell as she gets around and navigates new environments with no problems, her condition does not stop her from enjoying life to the fullest.
She absolutely adores playing with her two foster brothers so she would likely thrive in a home with another friendly cat. That said, Nora also loves human affection and is happiest curled up for cuddles, so she would also do wonderfully as an only cat with people who can give her plenty of love and attention.
Nora’s rough beginning has only made her more special. She’s a resilient, affectionate little kitten looking for someone who can see past her scars and love her for the beautiful soul she is.
Medical notes
Nora has been diagnosed by a Specialist Veterinary Ophthalmologist with a condition called bilateral symblepharon- the conjunctiva is growing over the cornea due to severe cat flu as a kitten that was left untreated for too long.
This gives her eyes a hazy appearance however she has been confirmed as not needing any surgery or further treatment as this condition is not expected to progress and most importantly, she has enough vision that she can get around any environment and play with no issues.

Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
