Rudy - 1 Year Old Terrier X

Rudy is a loving, loyal 1yr old female terrier x with so much love to give her people and a big smiley grin.

Rudy loves going on her daily walks, entertaining herself with toys, and playing with her foster brother. Whilst a high energy dog at times being young still, Rudy understands when it’s time to settle down of an evening and loves curling up to her people on the couch or at their feet and snuggling in bed.

Rudy is a social butterfly and loves saying hi to everyone she sees on outings. She is so excited when it’s time to wake up in the morning after sleeping through the night to see what the day holds – hopefully a nice walk, plenty of treats, enrichment and time spent with her family.

Rudy is still learning her manners but can “sit” on command and before meals – which she loves to show off. Her recall training is going well. She walks excellently on the lead and gets along with dogs of all sizes including XXL breeds. Rudy has lived with cats whilst in care with no issues. She is well toilet trained during the day, however at night would benefit from some puppy pads in the house during her first few weeks of transition.

Rudy has mild separation anxiety which she is showing huge improvements within the short time she’s been in care. This shows in the form of pacing, looking out at the window waiting for you to return and some whining – she is not destructive when inside or disruptive to the neighbours. For this reason, Rudy would benefit from one person being in the home most of the time and patient in those initial transition weeks.

Rudy would make an amazing family dog for kids 10+ as she can be quite jumpy, which is part of her ongoing training. Rudy would absolutely adore a canine sibling to play with and comfort her when no one is home. Rudy’s dream forever home/family would need to be committed to ongoing training with someone home most of the time. She would require indoor/outdoor access with plenty of toys! Rudy requires daily walks. If you’re looking for unconditional love, loyalty and endless laughs, Rudy is your pawfect pal.

Rudy is in foster care in Gorokan, NSW. As she is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption within the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland, Cessnock, Upper Hunter including Singleton and Muswellbrook), as well as the Central Coast and Sydney. She will need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when ready.

Her adoption fee is $800. She will be desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, and up to date with flea, tick, and worm treatments.
