Meet Gemini, a sweet yet very timid 8-month-old Maltese x.

Gemini came to us from the local pound with her brother, so her past is unknown. She appears to have had no life experience, socialisation or training before coming into care, so as expected, the world is still a big scary place.
Gem can be scared of people she doesn’t know, and as much as she wants to make friends, she will keep her distance.
She has started learning how to walk on a lead, which is coming along slowly, along with toilet training.
Gem is a sweet yet cheeky girl who deep down just wants to please. She has a long way to go with her training and will need a family prepared to spend the time and provide lots of encouragement to help build her confidence. She is very food motivated, which definitely helps to win her over.

Gemini gets along well with other dogs and other than occasionally barking at the cats through the door, she hasn’t shown much interest in them. She enjoys the company of other dogs and would benefit from having a doggy companion in the home to help build her confidence.

Gemini’s coat was in quite a state when she came into care. She has been clipped to remove the mats and even out her patchy hair.

If you have time, patients and a lot of love to give to a nervous little pooch, Gem might be the one for you. With lots of training, socialisation and reassurance, Gemini has the potential to grow into a lovely, loyal little companion.
