Banjo, the greyhound

Banjo is a calm, lovable boy who forms beautiful bonds with his people once he feels safe and settled. He’s the kind of dog who may take a little time to warm up, but for someone willing to be patient and let him come out of his shell at his own pace, the reward will be a deeply loyal companion for life. Once comfortable, he’ll happily come over for cuddles and loves being near his person, often choosing to quietly wait nearby just to be close. While he enjoys affection, he’s also respectful of space and is not one to insist on being on the couch or in your face.

Banjo could suit either apartment or house living, though a home with a backyard would likely be lovely for him to stretch his legs and enjoy some extra space. He has been left alone and has coped well, though he does enjoy the company of his humans and likes knowing where they are.

He walks beautifully on lead, happily strolling right by your side, and is an easy walking companion. He gets along well with other dogs and could do very well with a canine companion. He has shown little interest in cats so far, though we suspect he may become more engaged and playful with another dog once fully settled into a home.

Banjo has shown no signs of resource guarding or sleep startle, and his overall temperament is calm and gentle. Toilet training is progressing nicely. He is reliable during the day, while overnight toileting is still a work in progress as he adjusts to routine and timing.

Banjo is a sweetheart with a soft nature who will thrive in a home that understands that trust is something earned, not rushed. Give him a little time, and you’ll have a devoted best friend.
