About Chimera
Chimera is a bit of legend.
This stunning German Shepherd x Husky boy is everything you’d expect from the mix, smart, expressive, goofy, playful, and absolutely full of personality. Chimera is a large dog with an equally large presence, but beneath the dramatic good looks is a genuinely sweet and social boy who loves being involved in whatever his people are doing.
One of Chimera’s best qualities is his ability to read a room. He’s playful and silly when the time is right, but he also settles well and knows when to switch off. He's such an easy dog to be around, he wants to hang out but can also hang back, he knows how to match the mood whether that be partying or time to chill.
Chimera is incredibly friendly with everyone he meets and approaches life with enthusiasm and curiosity. He walks nicely on leash and is generally very manageable out and about. He can become a little excited when he sees other dogs, but he responds well to redirection and continues to improve with consistency and structure.
He enjoys the company of other dogs and has previously lived successfully with another German Shepherd x Husky. He is not bad with dogs, however his social skills can be a little overenthusiastic and “full-on” at times, so he would benefit from continued guidance and refinement. He could happily live with another confident large dog who enjoys interaction and play, though he may be a bit too much for smaller dogs.
Chimera is also a playful, goofy boy who loves a bit of fun and interaction with his people. Whether it’s zoomies in the yard, tossing toys around, or dramatically flopping at your feet for attention, he’s always good for a laugh.
Ideal Home:
A house with a secure yard and space for a large dog to comfortably move around.
Owners experienced or confident with large breeds who can continue providing structure and guidance.
Could live with another large, social dog.
No cats.
Best suited to children aged 8+ due to his size and occasional enthusiasm.
A home happy to continue refining his dog manners and social skills.
Energy Level:
Chimera is active and playful without being over-the-top. He enjoys daily walks, enrichment, playtime, and social interaction, but he also has a good off-switch at home and settles nicely once his needs are met.
Suitability to Children:
Chimera could suit a home with dog-savvy children aged 8 years and older who are comfortable around large dogs. While he is very friendly, his size and occasional excitement may accidentally overwhelm younger children.
Suitability to Cats & Dogs:
Could live with another large dog who enjoys play and interaction.
Not suited to homes with cats.
Likely too much for small dogs due to his size and play style.
Overall, Chimera is a stunning, intelligent, affectionate boy with a wonderfully goofy personality. He’s the kind of dog who keeps life entertaining while also being a genuinely lovely companion to have around.
