Herbie needs a foster carer
About Herbie
Herbie was saved from the street. He was in a cat colony but appeared to have an eye injury. He was taken to the vet and the eye is a congenital condition when the eyeball is smaller than normal. He is not able to see out of this eye.
Herbie has been in foster care now and whilst still shy, he does enjoy coming out for attention and physical pats.

He let me ‘cuddle’ him. It didn’t last long but it was sweet! He still won’t venture upstairs but when I come and sit with him he sleeps peacefully next to me the whole time.
5 week update on Herbie: he jumped up on the spare bed while I was sitting on it! And then slept so peacefully 😻 he now comes out from hiding and is already waiting as I bring his food in, and has started doing cute little noises to greet me. At the end of the night after we’ve spent some time hanging out I typically go to put some food out for him before I leave the room, and he’s now started following me to where the food sits and he’s started expecting it and meowing for it.
He really is a lovely cat, seeking out affection and getting braver every day.
Looking for a foster home or forever home where he has peace and quiet and has teh space to come and seek attention on his terms.

Adoption details
Animals are desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, wormed and on heartworm prevention / and also FIV tested for cats where possible. They are not available for adoption outside NSW (except ACT). Please email adoptpar@gmail.com if you would like further information.
Dogs and cats are rehomed on two weeks trial to ensure that both the person adopting them and the rescuer are satisfied that the dog / cat / animal is happy and adapting well to their new home and this can be extended on request
Please be aware that Paws and Recover is run by volunteers who also work. We endeavour to answer enquires as quickly as possible. Some animals will inevitably be very popular and will generate many enquires. Where there is a high volume of enquires received, it will be our priority to contact those that best fit the requirements of the animal.
