About Louie
Hi, I’m Louie!
I’m a dachshund cross with a big personality, a playful spirit and so much love to give. I’m very much still a puppy at heart, I love to play, pounce, zoom around and make my humans laugh with my silly antics. Life feels like one big adventure and I’m here for all of it!
I’m still learning my manners, but I’m trying really hard! My foster mum has been teaching me the basics and I’ve already come such a long way. I’m mostly toilet trained and learning things like waiting patiently for food, treats and pats, and walking nicely on the lead. I’ll need a patient family who is happy to keep teaching me and helping me grow into the best boy I can be.
I also LOVE having a doggy friend to romp around with. If you already have a playful little companion who can match my energy, we’ll probably become best friends very quickly. I can get a bit sad if left home alone for long periods, so I’d suit a home where someone is around a lot, or where I have a furry mate to keep me company when needed. As a typical dachshund, I also love to use my voice to share all my opinions with the world. When I’m left alone, I will let you know I’m not happy, but with patience and ongoing training I’m learning to settle myself and understand that my people always come back, even if they just go into another room for a little while.
I love walks, car rides and any adventure that means I get to be part of what’s happening. I could also suit an active older person who enjoys getting out and about with a little sidekick like me.
I’m also very good with kids, as long as they understand I can get excited and might do a little happy jump when I see them.
I do seem to have a fear of men, it’s not all men but certain teens or adults I just can’t settle around and will be scared. I was adopted to Brisbane recently but sadly wasn’t able to be my happy self despite them trying their absolute best, so now I’m back with my foster family. For this reason I am only available to adopt
to Gladstone or nearby towns and a meet-and-greet is required to make sure everything goes smoothly.
I’m very eager to meet and play with my foster cat siblings too, but I’d only be suited to a home with very confident, dog-savvy cats - or a cat-free home where I can shine as the main character.
I’m just a joyful little boy ready to bring laughter, love and a whole lot of personality into your home. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow with a big heart, I think we might be the perfect match-
