Pumpkin

Hellooo, I am Pumpkin, yes, I know… I am a black kitten. The name is ironic, iconic, and honestly, I wear it well.

My story started a little rough. I was found on the street in Meadowbrook at just one week old, all by myself and a bit underweight. I went straight onto the bottle and let me tell you - I loved it. I was always first in line (even when I was the only one). I did give my foster carer a bit of a scare around two weeks old when I stopped eating and she had to resort to tube feeding for a few days... but I wasn’t about to give up. I fought my way through like the tiny, determined Pumpkin I am.

These days, I am thriving and I have decided that people are my absolute favourite thing, especially my foster mum (she’s the bottle lady, so obviously she’s my person). I follow her trotting around the house like a little shadow, just in case she needs assistance… or cuddles… or supervision… or all three.

I am also what you would call a “parrot cat.” I love sitting on shoulders like a fluffy little scarf, keeping the back of your neck warm while she tries to work and pop my head up and make little cameo appearances in her teams meeting. Very practical, very stylish.

When the day winds down and you finally sit, that is my cue. I will come over, gently boof your face to request kisses (non-negotiable), and once I have had my fill, I will curl up on your lap and “watch” TV… which mostly means falling asleep in the cutest possible way.

But don’t be fooled - I have got a playful side too. When the feather toy comes out, my eyes go HUGE, and I start darting side to side like a tiny, fluffy missile. Out come the cutest little murder mittens as I grab my “prey” with full commitment and zero mercy.

So if you are looking for a sweet, affectionate, slightly goofy little survivor who will follow you everywhere, keep you warm, and demand kisses on a regular basis, I am the kitten for you.

All Little Paws Kitten Rescue cats and kittens come to you vet checked, desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed, flea treated, and litter trained. As we are a rescue group, the adoption fee is not negotiable. Little Paws Kitten Rescue cats and kittens are indoor or cat enclosure only and must go to homes that intend them to stay that way. This is for their safety, the health of the cat or kitten and for the environment. It is our foster carer’s choice as to which home a cat or kitten goes to. We match the cats and kittens to the adoptee; we do not necessarily “sell” to the first caller. As our foster carers are all volunteers raising the cats and kittens in their own home, we would appreciate you letting them know if you cannot make an appointment.
