Basil is a fluffy boy who might look like a little tough-guy hunterā¦ but underneath all that charm is a gentle, soft-hearted kitten who just needs a moment to feel safe š„¹š
At first, Basil prefers to watch the world quietly. Heās a careful little observer who likes to take his time getting used to new people and places. But once he decides youāre part of his world, he completely transforms ā suddenly heās climbing, playing, and gently inserting himself into everything youāre doing like heās always belonged there š
Basil loves playtime and takes his āfearsome hunterā role very seriously (even if he wouldnāt hurt a fly). He enjoys wrestling toys, chasing balls and bells, and anything that moves. Heās still figuring out that hands arenāt toysā¦ but heās learning! His fluffy little feet make all his attempts at being athletic even more adorable.
He is very bonded to his siblings and feels happiest when heās surrounded by them. Basil gets comfort and confidence from their presence, so feline companionship is really important for him.
When heās relaxed, Basil becomes a sweet, affectionate boy who enjoys back scratches and Churu treats. He just needs a bit of patience to show his cuddly side ā but once he trusts you, heās all in š¤

Adoption details
Our adoption process is as follows:
1. Submit an adoption application via our website at www.rescuecatsofmelbourne.com.au/adopt
2. We will be in touch with you within 48 hours if we wish to progress your application.
3. A meet and greet will then be organised so that you can meet your potential new family member!
4. Upon a successful meet and greet, an adoption day will be set for you to come and collect your new family member and sign all required paperwork
All of our cats come de-sexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea treated, worm treated and with a clean bill of health.
Our 10-Day Health Guarantee: We want you to feel confident in your new family memberās health. We offer a 10-day cooling-off period specifically for health-related concerns. If your kitten shows signs of a pre-existing illness (such as a respiratory infection or parasite) within the first 10 days of arriving home, please contact us immediately. During this window, you have the option to return the kitten for a full refund or work with our rescue team to ensure the kitten receives the necessary care. We are committed to transparency and the wellbeing of our cats.
