About Monkey The Moon Cat
Meet Monkey – The Gentle Emerald-Eyed Moon Cat ❤️
Sweet, shy, and utterly enchanting, Monkey is an 8-year-old white tortoiseshell girl looking for her forever home.
This beautiful lady was found as a tiny kitten and deeply loved by her mum for many years. When her family had to move house, they made the difficult decision to reach out to us so Monkey and her siblings could find new loving homes.
Her Most Magical Feature
Monkey has a rare genetic disorder that gives her the most stunning emerald green eyes you will ever see. These are not edited or filtered, her eyes truly sparkle like deep green jewels. While they softly dull during a full moon, they remain breathtakingly beautiful at all times.
There’s something almost astrological about her, born under the nurturing sign of Cancer, Monkey seems to carry a quiet lunar magic. Her emerald eyes feel like they hold ancient forest secrets and gentle moonlit wisdom. People who meet her often say she has an otherworldly, calming presence.
Personality & Quirks
Monkey is the sweetest, most gentle little lady with a heart of gold. She’s incredibly loving once she trusts you, but she is also very skittish, shy, and submissive. She’ll need a calm, patient person and a quiet home where she can slowly come out of her shell.
No loud young children please, she startles easily and prefers peace and quiet.
She will hide from new noises and people at first, but she will come to you for gentle pats (just one hand at a time though, if she sees the other hand coming, she may dash away!).
Her Adorable “Babies”
One of Monkey’s most heart-melting quirks is that she is a devoted cat mum to her five fabric kitten “babies” filled with catnip. She carries them everywhere — from her bed to the lounge, and even to the food bowls and litter tray! She moves them around the house with such care and love. Watching her nurture and look after her babies is incredibly cute and endearing. It shows what a nurturing, quirky, and loving little soul she is.
Cat Companions
Monkey lived happily with four other cats before, but because she is so submissive, she can be easily bullied. She would do best in a home with no other cats, or with one very gentle, respectful cat who won’t push her around.
Monkey is a special, soft-hearted girl who deserves a patient, understanding human (or couple) who will give her the time and quiet space she needs to blossom. In return, you’ll get a devoted, sweet companion with the most magical emerald eyes and the cutest nurturing habits you’ve ever seen.
If you’re a calm, cat-savvy person with a peaceful home and lots of patience (and maybe a sense of wonder for lunar-eyed kitties), Monkey could be your perfect match.
Monkey is approximately 8 years old, has been desexed, microchipped and vaccinated and is available for adoption right meow.
Currently located with one of our amazing foster carers in Rowville.
Please message us if you feel you could give this gentle green-eyed moon cat the loving forever home she deserves. Her babies are coming with her, of course! 🌙💚
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help
As a small, independent rescue, we depend entirely on the kindness and generosity of our supporters and animal lovers like you. We’d also love to connect with you on social media:

Following and sharing our pages helps us reach more potential adopters and supporters. If we can grow our audience, we’ll be able to generate a small ongoing income to sustain and expand the rescue.
We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about Urban Feline Australia.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
