About Clay
If you've ever wanted a giant fluffy shadow with a goofy personality and a heart of gold, Clay is ready to fill the position.
This handsome Maremma is a true farm dog at heart. He is happiest when he has room to roam, people to keep an eye on, and plenty of opportunities to tag along with whatever you are doing. Whether you're fixing fences, feeding animals, or simply wandering around the property, expect Clay to be right there with you.
Forget squeaky toys and fancy treats because Clay is simply not impressed. His favourite thing is spending time with his people. He would much rather be your sidekick than chase a tennis ball, and his goofy antics are guaranteed to keep you smiling.
Clay has experience living alongside sheep, alpacas, peacocks, goats, cows, chickens, and ducks, and he is looking for another rural lifestyle where he can truly thrive. He is not suitable for residential or suburban housing.
Previous Maremma or livestock guardian breed experience is essential. Clay needs owners who understand guardian breeds and can appreciate the instincts and unique qualities that make them so special.
Clay can display resource guarding, so he is looking for experienced owners who are confident managing this behaviour and setting him up for success.
He enjoys the company of other dogs and could live with a well matched younger dog following a successful meet and greet. He is not suitable to live with elderly dogs.
Clay would be best suited to a home with primary school aged children or older. Please bring all resident dogs and children along to meet him.
If your dream dog is less "throw the ball again" and more "let's check the paddocks together," Clay could be your perfect match. He is loyal, hilarious, full of character, and ready to become the best farm mate you could ask for.
Weight: 41kg Xx
