About Florrie
Meet Florrie, a delightful bundle of excitable energy who embodies love and affection. This cuddly canine has a big heart and adores people, often expressing her need for attention and affection with an endearing lean and a wagging tail that likes to twirl like a helicopter when she gets a good cuddle. Every moment with Florrie is filled with joy and warmth; she’ll never pass up the opportunity for snuggles, making her an ideal companion for anyone who appreciates a loving pet.
Though she’s a bit of a foodie, Florrie’s real passion is being around her human friends, even when she's off-leash. She’s an excellent loose-lead walker, enjoying new adventures and being outside exploring new areas, but she may occasionally pull toward a smaller dog. She's a sociable girl who appreciates the company of other dogs, although she prefers humans and can sometimes act like the fun police when she wants some space.
Florrie's exuberance shines when playing with people; her little spins of excitement bring laughter and joy to every interaction. With a bit of continued training, she’ll learn to give polite greetings to little dogs and can adjust well. While she's best suited to being the only dog, she could happily coexist with an independent, tolerant medium-to-large dog.
An ideal home for Florrie is an apartment or a place with a small yard, where she can burn energy through play and walks. Families with children over five will find her a loving addition. However, households with pocket pets or cats aren't recommended due to her curious instincts.
Opening your heart and home to Florrie means gaining a forever friend who will always be by your side, spinning with joy and showering you with love and loyalty.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions. Does have 2 small scars on her back and hip from an old injury. Has had a dental clean recently.

Adoption details
Step 1: Please contact Anna Rogers, Dog colony supervisor (anna.rogers@tafesa.edu.au) for an application form.
Step 2: Return the completed application form to Anna Rogers. Once we receive your completed application form along with a minimum of 5 photos of your property showing various views of your backyard covering gates, fences, shelter areas for the greyhound and any other area (i.e. inside the house) the greyhound will be residing in. This is so we can assess your property as safe and suitable for a greyhound and match you to the dog that best suits your environment/lifestyle.
Step 3: We will match you with the dog best suited to your situation and lifestyle.
Step 4: A meet in greet will occur with all family members including any existing pet dogs. If everyone gets along and the application is successful, the dog will then be collected at an agreed later date.
Step 5: Collect the dog and shower them with love!
All the greyhounds up for adoption are desexed, microchipped, wormed and vaccinated. The dogs also have had regular dental checks and cleans.
All the dogs come with:
- their lead & collar,
- muzzle (if they require one),
- full medical history since they arrived at Tafe,
- desexing and vaccination certificates,
- a winter jacket,
- a blanket that smells of them and,
- a week's supply of dry dog food for you to transition the dog to the food of your choice.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
