About Pepper
Pepper is a desexed male Domestic Shorthair mix available for adoption in Springfield Lakes (Ipswich Region, QLD).
Pepper doesn't do slow introductions. Meet him once and you'll get the exact same warm welcome as someone who's known him for years.
He's a calm, easygoing cat with an open, curious nature, the kind who leads with a solid head bump and settles in like he's known you all along.
Give him a lap or a cushion beside you, and he'll knead away happily, working through his own particular opinions about dinner along the way.
A little about Pepper:
🐾 Says hello with a firm head bump, his go to opening move
🐾 Kneads contentedly the moment he settles in beside someone he likes
🐾 Always lets you know, cheerfully, when a meal is due
🐾 Prefers being the only animal in the house, with the run of the place
🐾 Loves supervised time outdoors and always finds his way back
Pepper likes his days mapped out: up early, a wander through the yard, a long snooze once the sun's high enough, and one more loop outside before things wind down for the night.
By night he's ready to settle, usually right beside whoever's sitting down first.
He's genuinely easy to handle too, relaxed about being touched anywhere, paws included.
He's low maintenance in the coat department too, a quick pat now and then is really all the grooming attention he asks for.
You'll know you've earned his evening when he turns up right as you settle, presses in against your side, and talks you through the rest of the night in a low, contented murmur.
During the day he's content doing his own thing, which makes that evening attention feel like something freely given rather than constant demand.
Pepper will do best as the only pet in the home, free to roam in and out on his own terms, with a calm, steady household around him.
Secure outdoor access suits him well. He's sensible about it, always turning up again right on schedule, and it gives him room to keep exploring in his own unhurried way.
Beyond that his needs are refreshingly simple: food, a warm patch of sun, and someone around for the evening shift.
Picture a weekend afternoon: Pepper stretched out somewhere sunny after a wander around the yard, half asleep but keeping half an ear on the house.
The second you drop onto the couch, he's there, already halfway through telling you about his day.
Pepper is warm, easy company and entirely upfront about what he wants, a cat who makes affection look effortless from the very first hello.
Whoever gives him his evenings gets a genuinely social, easygoing companion who's glad to have you exactly where he can see you.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
