About Elsa
At around 1 year old, Elsa Periwinkle clearly wants connection and attention, but she can sometimes struggle with how to appropriately interact with people. She didn't seem to get much opportunity to learn normal home life or cat manners before coming into care, and the shelter environment has been quite stressful for her. Because of this, she can become overwhelmed if pushed too quickly or frightened, and may react defensively if her boundaries aren't respected.
Underneath it all though, Elsa is a very manageable and genuinely sweet cat who shows lots of potential in the right home. She enjoys attention on her terms, is curious about people, and would benefit enormously from a calm environment where she can properly decompress and learn to feel safe.
Elsa would thrive with patient adopters who understand that trust takes time and that progress comes through routine, space, toys, and gentle interaction. She's still young, playful, and learning how to just be a cat, and with the chance to settle into a stable home, we think she'll continue to blossom.
Elsa Periwinkle isn't looking for perfection, she's looking for someone willing to help her discover it's okay to relax, play, and simply enjoy being loved.
Elsa is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment. If you can open your heart and home to Elsa - or if you're a rescue group able to help - please reach out to us at adoptions@dogshome.com
