Bobby

Bobby is a happy, affectionate young dog with a fun personality and a lovely balance of playful energy and easygoing companionship. While he definitely has his moments of “kelpie-ness,” overall he’s more of a relaxed couch potato who simply likes being near his people, whatever they happen to be doing.

He’s great with dogs and has also been good with kids, though he can get very excited and jumpy when he first meets people or starts playing. Once he gets those initial zoomies out of his system, he settles beautifully and becomes a very chilled-out companion.

Bobby absolutely loves toys and is fantastic at entertaining himself. If everyone is busy, he’s more than happy to toss toys around, chew on something fun or work away at a puzzle feeder on his own. Kongs, treat balls, enrichment toys and anything involving problem solving are right up his alley. He would happily live with another playful dog, but would also do well as an only dog provided he has enough enrichment and companionship.

He’s eager to learn and keen to please, though still very much a goofy young dog at heart. He has learnt “sit”… although when he’s excited, that knowledge sometimes temporarily leaves his brain. He walks reasonably well on lead but will benefit from continued training and confidence building, as new environments can make him either overexcited or slightly anxious.

Bobby loves cuddles and affection but isn’t demanding about it. He’s equally happy curling up beside you on the couch or snoozing independently on his bed nearby. He also takes treats very gently from your hand and is good for baths.
He appears mostly unfussed by cats so far, though interactions have been limited and supervised.

Toilet training is going well — Bobby will generally head to the door when he needs to go out, though he’s not quite able to hold on overnight yet.

Bobby is a lovely, well-rounded young dog who will suit a home looking for a friendly companion with a playful side, an intelligent brain and a very sweet nature.
