About Remco
Once you’ve earned your way into Remco’s small circle of trust, you’ll discover the perfect dog hiding underneath.
He’s always up for a low-key outing, beach runs when everyone else is at work, swims beside the kayak and will happily launch himself into just about any river or creek he can find.
Being in foster care with professional trainers has given Remco a really solid foundation. He’s crate trained, toilet trained, non-destructive, settles well on his own, walks beautifully on lead and has fantastic recall.
He may take a little time to let people in, but once he does, Remco has so much love, loyalty and personality to give.
My ideal home: Remco’s perfect home is one that understands trust is something he builds slowly. He can be cautious with new people and generally needs a handful of meets before he truly relaxes and lets someone into his world. After spending the first six months of his life with very limited human contact, Remco is looking for people who will let him move at his own pace and never rush the process 🤍
What Remco lacks in confidence around strangers, he more than makes up for in his love of other dogs. He absolutely thrives with canine company, so a home with one or multiple stable dog siblings is essential for him. He’d be happiest living a quieter lifestyle with less visitors and more time spent exploring nature away from busy environments.
My energy level: Remco has a really balanced energy level and settles beautifully in the home, while still being adventure ready whenever needed.
He loves tug, fetch, food-based training and enrichment. Remco comes alive around water, give him a river, creek or somewhere to launch himself in and he’s a very happy boy.
My suitability to children: Remco is not suitable to children or a home where they would visit.
My suitability to other cats or dogs: He is incredibly dog social and would do best in a home with canine companions around him whether that’s one best mate or a full little pack.
Not suited to cats
Remco is fully muzzled trained and often wears it away from home for peace of mind.

Please use these links rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two-week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
