Leroy is a 1.5-year-old German Shepherd who's still figuring out that the world isn't actually that scary, and he's getting better every day. He can be a little shy when meeting new people and isn't totally sure about lots of pats and handling yet, but with patience, gentle encouragement, and a steady routine, this sweet boy is starting to come out of his shell.

Leroy is looking for a calm, understanding home that can help continue building his confidence through positive experiences and slow introductions to new things, especially unfamiliar dogs and handling. He'd do best as the only dog in the home so he can focus on becoming the best version of himself without extra pressure.

His ideal home would have secondary school-aged kids or older who understand that sometimes the best way to make friends with Leroy is to let him come to you first.
