About Max
🐾 Meet Max
Red Kelpie
Max is a true ripper of a kelpie with a big heart and an even bigger desire to please his people. Smart, loyal, and eager, he's the kind of dog who just wants to be by your side and make you proud.
💛 Personality & Smarts
As a classic kelpie, Max is incredibly intelligent and already knows some of the basics-like sit-which he'll happily show off once he settles into his new home. He loves learning and is keen to keep building his skills, making him a great match for someone who enjoys training and mental enrichment.
🧠 Active Mind
Max thrives when his brain is engaged. He's looking for a home where he can continue learning new tricks, solving problems, and being given a purpose. With the right guidance, he'll truly shine.
🐕 Social Style
Max can live alongside other dogs, but he prefers companions who are respectful and happy to let him do his own thing. He's not overly interested in constant play and would be just as happy-if not happier-being your one and only, soaking up all the love and attention.
🌟 Ideal Home
Max would love a home where:
He can continue training and learning
He receives plenty of mental and physical stimulation
He builds a strong bond with his people
He can either be the only dog or live with a calm, respectful companion
🐾 In a Nutshell
Max is a clever, devoted kelpie who's ready to find a home where he can grow, learn, and feel truly loved. If you're after a loyal companion who will give you his all, Max is your boy. 🐶💛

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
