Meet the ever so dashing Darby.

Darby is a young man with a big personality, plenty of energy, and a lot of potential. Like many young dogs, he is still learning how to navigate the world around him and can become easily overwhelmed when things feel exciting or unfamiliar. When this happens, his emotions can come out through jumping, overexcitement, and intense enthusiasm.

Despite this, Darby is a sweet boy who is trying hard to learn. He has been working closely with our Behaviour Team while in shelter care and is already making positive progress. We are seeing him develop better coping skills, make calmer choices, and grow in confidence each day.

Darby is looking for an active adults-only home that can provide him with ongoing training, structure, enrichment, and plenty of physical exercise to help him continue developing into the best version of himself. He will need to be the only dog in the home and is not suitable to live with cats or pocket pets.

Most importantly, Darby needs a home willing to give him time, patience, and consistency. He is not looking for perfection, just people who understand that growth takes time and that building trust and stability can make all the difference.

For the right home, Darby will be an incredibly rewarding companion and is ready to find the lasting home he truly deserves.
