About Roxy
Introducing Roxy!
Roxy is a Jack Russell born 19th November 2021.
Roxy was brought into the facility as an unknown stray, however it was quickly discovered it was actually her owners who brought her into the facility. They explained it was nothing she'd done wrong but her owner left her with a family member who wasn't able to care for her.
Her surrender profile states that she travels well in the car, she is friendly with children & other dogs. While she hasn't got separation anxiety she has dug under the fence.
Since being at the facility Roxy has been an absolute sweetheart with all staff & volunteers. While she can be a little shy when you first meet her, she quickly becomes playful and would definitely be a lap dog if given the chance.
Roxy tested quite well with other dogs. She was happy to meet both male & female, small & large. While she wasn't overly fazed by them she wasn't uncomfortable with the situation at all. We believe Roxy could be suitable to live with another dog, or to be the spoint only "child" at home. If you have a friendly dog we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Unfortunately Roxy has shown signs of prey drive, so she will need a home with no small animals like cats, chickens & rabbits.
Roxy has shown no signs of food aggression since being with us, however she has shown mild signs of separation anxiety. While this will most likely settle in a home environment, her new owners will need to keep in mind that she may need someone with her more often than not.

Roxy's adoption fee is $600 & includes her desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. She is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Roxy is currently located in East Maitland.

If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
