Dizzy needs a foster carer
About Dizzy
When Dizzy arrived on intake, she was displaying signs of ataxia that were consistent with a neurological injury.
Because dizzy is a donek pigeon, a performance bird bred to do tricks in the sky, in particular, spinning downwards in a spiral, we think dizzy had an accident where she had a collision- or was attacked by a predator.
It took some time, but eventually these symptoms decreased in frequency and severity, and Dizzy is now mostly back to normal and looking for a forever home!
Dizzy is a little bit shy, but likes sitting in your hand for company. We think she would do best in a home where she has another pigeon companion (you can adopt a second from us if you don’t have one already!)
Dizzy would be okay as an indoor pet or in an aviary outside.

Once you have expressed interest in a bird, we ask that you formally apply to adopt via our adoption form (this can be done ahead of time) which can be found on our website:

Please make sure to read our HOUSING REQUIREMENTS and ADOPTION POLICY.
From there we will work with the adopter to find a bird that suits their lifestyle, and organise a meet and greet at our shelter. We offer continious support post-adoption and are always available for help or questions.
