About Winston
Meet Winston, affectionately known as the "Big Goofball"! As a 4-year-old purebred German Wirehaired Pointer, he's ready to find a family that matches his lively spirit. This handsome boy is not only incredibly intelligent but also packs a personality as big as his heart. However, he will quickly catch on to "bad" habits if not given the proper guidance early on.
Winston possesses a high prey drive, chasing birds into trees and large shrubs with his distinctive "siren" barks, capturing the excitement of it all. Despite his boisterous nature, Winston is a loving companion who enjoys cuddles and attention without being excessively clingy. His playful nature is best showcased in his favorite game of fetch – though Winston has his own take on the game, opting to consider the toy his once it's thrown.
This energetic boy thrives under the care of a strong, experienced leader who can channel his exuberance positively and help Winston make smart decisions, especially when meeting new dogs. Grooming him is a breeze, too, since he loves hopping onto the grooming table for a pamper session.
Winston will guard his territory with a noticeable bark but quickly calms down under the assurance of his human pack leader. His ideal home would be one without pocket pets, cats, birds, or very young children, as his size and enthusiasm could be a bit much for smaller playmates. That said, he's good around older kids who can handle his playful spirit.
If you're up for the rewarding challenge of guiding this big, lovable rascal and providing him with the active lifestyle he craves, Winston might just be your perfect match. Winston is fully flea and worm treated, vaccinated, desexed, and microchipped, ready to join a new home for an adoption fee of $650. Don't miss the chance to have this charming "scallywag" as part of your family.

Adoption details
We like to take the personal approach where a person sends an email of interest around an animal and then we will follow up with phone discussions and email exploration through a survey.
Please note we are a small group of volunteers that balances the administrative side with the care of the animals.
Please only apply for one of our animals if you are genuinely interested in them.
We expect the prospective owner to travel to meet the animal and we are open to trial periods to ensure we have the match right.
