Meet a girl whose biggest wish is simple: to be close to her people.
She is an affectionate, people-loving sweetheart who genuinely seems to want to do the right thing. The kind of dog who looks at you as if asking, “Am I doing this right?” and then absolutely lights up for cuddles... or snacks, because food is definitely a close second favourite.
She has settled into foster care beautifully and learns new routines incredibly quickly. Stairs? Mastered. Food enrichment games? Worked out in no time. Toys? Currently not impressed. Human affection? Yes please. If she had her way, she’d happily spend her days right beside you, just being part of whatever you’re doing.
She’s currently managing two 4-hour alone periods each day with the company of another hound and settles quickly. Overnight, she comfortably lasts around 9 hours.
With other dogs, she is generally polite and tolerant, often preferring to simply avoid them rather than get involved. She has a lovely threshold around small dogs and doesn’t overreact when out and about. She’s also recently started showing sweet affection toward her foster sibling, which makes us think she may enjoy a home with another calm dog, though she could also be perfectly happy as an only dog.
She could suit either an apartment or house and adapts quickly, though new things can feel a little scary at first. With a calm, confident human to guide her, she settles well. On walks, she’s generally good on lead, though excitement can bring out a bit of criss-crossing and some bouncy enthusiasm. Since so much is still new, we expect this to improve with time and routine, especially given how food motivated she is.
Because she can be jumpy and has shown some sleep startle, a home with children aged 12+ would be best.
She’s a loving girl who just wants connection, comfort, and someone to adore.
At Homeward Bound Hounds, we pride ourselves on matching the right dog to the right family. We need to know more about you and your home to find the best possible match.
