Nellie

Beautiful Nellie is a gentle, affectionate 6-year-old Maremma with the sweetest nature. Calm, loving and incredibly cuddly, Nellie adores being close to her people and will happily curl up beside you on the couch — or even on top of you if you let her! Belly rubs, brushing sessions and quiet companionship are some of her favourite things.

Nellie is wonderfully friendly with visitors and loves being around people. She has also shown herself to be very sociable and playful with other dogs, so she would likely thrive in a home with a canine companion.

As a typical Maremma, Nellie will bark to let you know what’s happening around her, but she is not excessive and has a softer, slightly muffled bark. She would be best suited to a rural or semi-rural home where she has space to relax and enjoy family life.

While Nellie hasn’t yet been tested with children, her foster carer describes her as having a truly beautiful temperament and would be surprised if she wasn’t wonderful with them.

Nellie is still gaining confidence with car travel and currently prefers to stay close to home, but she walks nicely on lead around the garden and is settling beautifully into home life.
