About Gertrude Edna Mcdougall
Gertrude Edna McDougall (full name always) is a 10-year-old seasoned professional who has decided retirement is officially "in progress" and she is now taking applications for her final (and very important) home.
Gertrude Edna McDougall arrived at the pound, settled her belongings, checked the facilities, and politely waited for her family to collect her. They did not. So she has since filed them under "unreliable" and moved on with dignified grace and a bit of side-eye.
She is a very sweet girl with strong opinions about comfort, snacks, and whether you are giving her enough attention (answer: no, but she will allow you to try again). She enjoys a sneaky chat, the kind where you're minding your business and suddenly realise she has been quietly commenting on your life choices from the corner of the couch.
Gertrude Edna McDougall is looking for a retirement home, not a party house. She's done the young-cat nonsense. She has retired from chaos, overtime, and dramatic zoomies (mostly). Her ideal lifestyle now includes soft beds, predictable routines, and humans who understand that "resting her eyes" is a full-time occupation.
She does, however, still enjoy a bit of cheeky enrichment - a sunny windowsill, a gentle conversation, and the occasional appearance in your personal space just to check you're still functioning correctly.
What she offers in return is the real treasure: companionship, calm presence, and the quiet wisdom of a cat who has seen some things and is ready to supervise your life with gentle judgment and occasional approval.
Gertrude Edna McDougall isn't just looking for a home. She's looking for her retirement chapter, one with snacks, stability, and someone who finally understands that she is, in fact, the boss.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
