About Benedict
Benedict is a male short-haired cat available for adoption in Mount Coolum (Sunshine Coast, Queensland).
Benedict, known to his family as Benni, is a smart, playful cat with a lot to say. When he wants a game, he goes to the toy box, pulls out his favourite and brings it to you.
He's a sooky boy underneath the cheek. Head bumps for pats come all day, and when the weather cools he climbs into a lap.
He suits an active household where play is part of the day and someone is home more often than not.
A little about Benedict:
🐾 Loves his mouse on a string and a good chase through the cat tunnel
🐾 Big fan of a head bump, then a pat
🐾 Adores a game of hide and seek with his toy mouse
🐾 Lights up when you wake, with a hello and a request for a cuddle
🐾 Highly intelligent, with his own way of telling you what he wants
Benedict's days have a shape. He says hello when you wake, asks for a cuddle and a pat, then waits for breakfast.
He follows you around the house all day, helping with the chores. The afternoon brings playtime before dinner.
His best trick is the toy mouse. He captures it, races into the cat tunnel and waits for you to come and get it so the game can start again.
Evenings end with a sleep on the couch, then a spot at the end of the bed.
Benedict likes things tidy, and a clean litter tray is high on his list. A guardian who keeps it fresh will have a happy boy.
Benedict's affection is warm and on his terms. He's a great communicator who follows you until the pats arrive. A habit of staying close, a head bump at the right moment and a lap in cool weather say it all.
With new people, he takes a considered approach. He watches first without hiding, and he joins in once he's had a chance to size you up.
Give him that space and you'll find he comes forward.
Benedict suits a guardian who is experienced with cats and enjoys a clever, active one. A playful household suits him, with a full toy box and a tunnel on hand, and people around to join the games.
Picture a weekend morning. Benedict trots in with his toy mouse, drops it at your feet and settles in when the game is done.
Benedict is ready. The toy box, the tunnel, the head bumps and a person who plays back.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
