Tambo is a gorgeous country-bred pup with a sweet nature, soulful eyes, and the kind of calm, thoughtful personality that melts hearts. He is one of seven pups comprising The Country Litter.
His dad is a gorgeous purebred Maremma and his mum is a lovely brown Cattle Dog. Tambo is one of the smaller pups in the litter, weighing 6.0 kg on 28 April 2026.
Like his littermates, Tambo has been raised in foster care where he’s been well socialised and exposed to everyday life. He’s a friendly, affectionate little fellow who enjoys human company and happily toddles around with the other dogs.
Tambo has a softer, more gentle nature and can sometimes sit back and observe before joining in the chaos, but once he’s comfortable, his playful puppy side comes shining through. He loves cuddles, exploring the yard, and following his people around to see what’s happening.
As an adult, we expect Tambo to grow into a medium-sized dog who will thrive with companionship, continued training, and room to stretch his legs.

Adoption details
Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the “meet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
Cats:
If you are interested in one of our cats or kittens, please click on the green "Enquire about ...", button, tell us a bit about yourself and the home you can offer the cat, and one of our volunteers will be in touch.
