Meet Dusty 🐾

Dusty is an 11 month old Border Collie with a beautiful mix of brains, affection and energy. He’s a sweet, sensitive and incredibly cuddly boy who absolutely adores being around his people and other dogs. If you’re looking for a shadow dog who wants to be involved in everything you do, Dusty is your guy.

Like most young Border Collies, Dusty is high energy and thrives when given both mental and physical outlets. He’s eager to learn, loves to please and picks up new commands very quickly. Interactive toys, puzzles, training sessions and games of fetch are some of his favourite things and once he’s had a good play, he’s more than happy to settle beside you on the couch, bed or floor for cuddles.

Dusty is highly affectionate with both people and dogs and has a funny habit of wanting to “clean” everyone he loves. He enjoys social outings, loves the park and interacts well with unfamiliar dogs and people. He’s also a huge fan of the beach and water adventures.

Dusty would be best suited to a home with another young, playful dog. He can experience some separation anxiety when left alone and feels much more confident with canine company. Because of his intelligence and energy levels, he can become destructive if he doesn’t have appropriate outlets and enrichment.

He’s currently learning leash skills. Dusty can still be a little nervous around handling of his harness, collar and leash, but he’s slowly learning that harness time means fun walks and adventures. He can also be slightly reactive to barking dogs while walking, though he’s making great progress learning to ignore them.

Dusty has decent off lead recall already and with continued training would excel. He is fine with cats, however he may chase if they run.

Dusty is happy sleeping indoors or outdoors although a cosy bed is absolutely mandatory 🥺
