Charlie

I'm a very active Kelpie, possibly crossed with something taller, as I'm around 28kg. Charlie came to us with two holes in his neck and we suspect a shock collar had been kept on him for too long and too tightly. He DOES bark often during the day - not at other dogs, but he'll run in circles around the yard and bark every so often. This is making it hard to find him a home. He also does pull on the leash while walking - not the whole time, but enough that a child or elderly person would not suit him. His carer has found a loose, flexible muzzle almost totally stops his barking when he's being a nuisance, and a halti helps for walks.

He has some problems, but he's also a lovely young dog who nuzzles up to his carers, is great with other dogs in his yard, and has a tonne of personality. He loves to play tug and often drops a rope on people's laps. On his morning walks he approaches children with his tail wagging and gently touches them, enjoying the attention. He's a sweet boy with a few problems that needs someone who is active, tolerant, and understanding of his needs. He probably isn't safe with cats, who he seems to regard as herdable.

Can you give Charlie hope of a permanent home? We're only adopting to homes within 150km of Gladstone. He's desexed, chipped and vaccinated.-
