About Nina
PLEASE READ PROFILE CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING
Nina is a very special little lady who is looking for an equally special home.
She is very unsure of handling with new people. It takes time and a slow approach to win her favour, so any potential adopters will need to be prepared to visit her at the shelter many times before taking her home.
Once Nina decides you are her person, her cheeky side comes out, and she becomes deeply devoted and affectionate. She is the definition of a velcro dog and will want to be by your side as much as possible. She thrives on close companionship and would love a home where someone is around more often than not.
Because Nina forms such strong attachments, she can become protective of her chosen person and may resource guard them around others. For this reason, Nina is looking for a very specific home environment where she can feel secure and avoid situations that may put her the position to make a poor choice. Nina can be reactive towards dogs, and will need to be muzzled for vet visits.
Nina’s ideal home would be:
• A quiet single-person household (preferably female)
• No other pets
• No children/grandchildren
• Minimal to no regular visitors
• Experience with resource guarding behaviours
