About Goldie Higgins
✨ Meet Goldie Higgins ✨
In the world of rescue, we often talk about “unicorn homes” 🦄
Those special homes that we know are out there somewhere… the ones that truly understand an animal’s unique needs and are willing to love them exactly as they are.
That’s what we’re hoping to find for Goldie Higgins 💛
Goldie is completely blind, likely born this way, but honestly… she is one of the most affectionate, loving cats you could ever meet. She has adapted beautifully to life indoors and is fully litter trained and house trained once she’s had a slow introduction to her environment.
Because she can’t see, Goldie relies heavily on trust and routine. She can still get startled if someone sneaks up on her, so her foster family have taught the kids to click or call her name before touching or playing with her. Once she knows who’s there, she absolutely thrives on affection and connection.
And clingy? Oh yes… in the absolute sweetest way possible 🥹
Goldie’s favourite safe place is wrapped around your neck, curled up on your chest, or snuggled tightly beside you. She loves being close to her people and would suit a home where someone is around more often, whether that’s a couple, a quieter household, or a family with older children who understand her needs.
She’s also incredibly playful and inquisitive. Toys that make noise are a huge hit, and anything with catnip that she can sniff out quickly becomes her favourite game. Watching her confidently navigate the world around her is honestly pretty amazing.
Goldie gets along beautifully with other cats, and we truly feel she would benefit from having a confident feline friend in her new home to continue helping build her confidence and provide companionship. She hasn’t been dog tested.
This girl is something special. She just needs the right people willing to see the world a little differently alongside her 💛
