About Sweet Ginger
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Children over 5 years
Ginger just turned 5 years in April and is a gentle and easy-going gal - showing what a lovely companion she will be.
She walks beautifully on the leash, only occasionally pulling if something really catches her interest. Ginger is happy with a daily walk, 30 minutes is fine when it's warm though she could comfortably go further on cooler days.
She’s friendly and approachable with adults, enjoys pats and ear rubs, and has a calm, patient nature that suggests she would do well in a variety of homes, including those with children or older people.
Around other dogs, Ginger is learning quickly; while she may be curious or a little unsure at first, she settles with time and is already showing more relaxed, polite behaviour.
Ginger is great in the car and can jump in unassisted. She handles outings like local footy games with ease, and is content to relax at home during the day, making her well-suited to a working household.
At home, Ginger is independent without being distant—she enjoys affection and seeks it out in her own gentle way, but is equally happy to rest quietly on her own bed. She has a playful side too, with bursts of backyard zoomies and the occasional toy game, especially when encouraged.
She’s food-motivated, which makes her responsive and easy to guide as she continues to learn. Ginger would thrive as a solo dog or potentially with a canine companion given the right introductions, and she’s already adapting well to household routines like using a doggy door for toiletting
Overall, she’s a calm, sweet-natured girl with so much love to give, just waiting for the right home to help her truly shine.
[Note: Under Victorian Law greyhounds must be on-leash at all times in public areas, including in off-leash parks or ovals]
