Some dogs ask for attention. Ned quietly hopes someone will notice him.

Ned Cory Hall is a deeply sensitive young boy who has clearly spent much of his life unsure how to feel safe in the world. When he first came into our care, he was incredibly shut down - overwhelmed by the shelter environment and far more comfortable watching life happen from a distance than being part of it. But while Ned's journey has been a quiet one, he has come an incredibly long way.

Slowly, with patience, consistency, and gentle handling, Ned has started learning that the world is not quite as scary as he once believed. We've watched him begin to seek comfort from familiar people, soften into affection, and allow his beautiful personality to peek through. Every small moment of trust from Ned feels enormous because of how hard he has worked to get there.

He still isn't the kind of dog who will rush up to greet strangers or demand attention. Ned needs time, space, and people willing to let him exist at his own pace. But underneath all of the fear and uncertainty is an incredibly affectionate, soft-hearted dog who just wants to feel safe enough to love someone completely.

Once Ned lets you in, he clings tightly to his person and becomes deeply loyal - the kind of once-in-a-lifetime dog who would quietly follow you from room to room just to be near you. He's a little shadow boy with the gentlest soul, and the bond he forms with his trusted people is incredibly special.

Ned is very sooky and tender, but he still struggles around other animals and busy environments. He must be the only dog in the home and is looking for a quiet adults-only household with no cats or babies, where he can continue building confidence in a calm and predictable environment.

Right now, Ned doesn't need someone expecting perfection. He just needs someone kind enough to keep believing in him the way we have. The journey with Ned may begin quietly, but for the person willing to give him that chance, the bond you build with him will be unforgettable.
