About The Trees Litter
Introducing the Trees Litter. This sea of fluffy goodness and clumsy antics is a seven-strong army of Cavalier love. The boys, Ash, Aspen and Linden and the girls, Willow, Maple, Cassia and Cherry have been surrendered due to being an unplanned litter with whom the owners became overwhelmed.
While each individual has their own unique personality they are unequivocally King Charles Cavaliers in their approach to life; submissive, playful, human oriented and intelligent.
They will follow you around endlessly in their pursuit of affection, coupled with their predilection for insatiable curiosity, and they love nothing more than curling up in your lap for an endearing snore-imbued nap.
Being only 12 weeks old, these babies will need patient guidance to learn to navigate the world in order to become well-rounded and polite household companions, including toilet training, habituation and socialisation. They’ve come along in leaps and bounds in the last week, growing in confidence with strange surrounds, learning the rules of littermate play, interacting with strangers and refining their manners around their older doggy peers.
Although the tangible joy of experiencing each dog individually can be hard to capture, below is a dedicated snapshot of each puppy’s personality.
Ash is a plucky adventurer who is loads of fun and loves to play but has a true work/life balance and cherishes his snuggly naps. While he can be autonomous, he loves his people and is the most curious and inquisitive of the lot. His adoption will be delayed due to requiring specialist surgery to remove a dermoid from his cornea. We will likely list him separately in around three month’s time.
Aspen is a very emotionally intelligent, playful boy with typical Cavalier sensitivities and he ensures he always looks out for his brothers and sisters.
Linden is a little party boy who wants to be involved in everything you’re doing. Being the boldest of the lot, he is the first to greet your friends and wants to live life to the fullest. In his down time he is an absolute smooch who loves his people.
Willow is a playful, snuggly extrovert who always wants to instigate play. She is a superb all-rounder and a friendly little girl who loves a cuddle. She has her own mind and doesn’t necessarily always follow the pack.
Maple is a socialite who loves exploring and living life to the full. Wherever you are she won’t be far behind. She is playful, affectionate and loyal.
Cassia is soft, timid and observational. She needs to get the vibe of what’s going on before committing herself and relies on the behaviour of others to garner confidence. She is an all-round sweet heart who is very affectionate and sensitive, but who can be Intimidated by rough play and will retreat if it all gets too much.
Cherry is an outgoing darling who adores playful interaction and is not intimidated by her surrounds. She can hold her own with her curiosity and inquisitiveness. She is people motivated, affectionate and will choose her special people every time.
Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are a unique breed who are known for the family-friendly, soft nature, however they do carry a high incidence of heart disease, specifically mitral valve disease. While all pups are currently unaffected, educating yourself on this condition and factoring in potential future medical expenses is essential in the decision making process associated with CKCS ownership.
We are looking for dedicated homes who will include them in all aspects of life, from park adventures, to cafe fun and evening couch snuggles.
If you think you have what it takes to give one of these gems a superior life and in return become the lucky recipient of all the abounding love and dedication these dogs will inevitably provide, please see the application instructions below.
These babies look forward to becoming firmly intergraded your life and etch themselves indelibly into your hearts.

Please tell us about yourself using the green ‘enquire about this pet’ button below. We do not operate on a first-in-best-dressed basis. Instead, our aim is to find the most suitable forever home for the animals in our care.
Your application should include details about who lives at your home, both humans and animals (names, sexes and ages) and what their daily schedules and living arrangements are like. It should include details about your previous dogs and a thorough break down of the house rules you will have for this pet as well as what their typical day will look like.
Please tell us what your dog’s sleeping arrangements will be as well as what you plan to do with your dog if you go away on holidays.

It may take up to four weeks to process the applications. Please try to be patient. All applicants will receive a response - but it won’t be an immediate one.
If your application seems promising you will be contacted for a telephone interview. Should this be successful you will be invited to a meet and greet and asked to send photos of your property.

AN OPEN LETTER TO APPLICANTS:
We hate to disappoint people. It’s something that really upsets us, but unfortunately it comes with the territory of what we do. So we want to take the time to explain something.
When we take on a dog, we make a commitment both to that dog and the former owners of that dog to find this fur-kid their perfect forever home. Our primary criterion in order to achieve this is whether that home is a good match for that dog. Each dog can have vastly different needs from the next and every home is different.
Sometimes well-intentioned people put their friends in touch with us, sometimes we are approached by friends or even family in relation to a particular dog. However, we have made a promise not to compromise on our commitment and we have to turn them down.
This isn’t a reflection of their dog ownership skills, nor how we feel about them personally. Our decision will always come down to whether we believe that they are a match. Not just any match - the best match.
Sometimes we are lucky to have several interested parties who would be a good match and it can be difficult to choose between them. Our ultimate decision will, however, not be influenced by our relationship with this potential adopter, be it secondary or primary, nor the number of times they have applied and missed out previously, nor whether they applied first, nor the number of times or methods used to contact us about a particular pet, but whether or not they are the BEST match available.
So if you know someone who is interested in any of the dogs at Onyx Rescue, or you are interested in one yourself, please go through the proper channels and send your application through Petrescue. Please do not take offence if you or your friends are not chosen - this only means that there was someone who was a better match. Not a better person, not a better dog owner, but a better match.
We believe there is a home for every dog and a dog for every home, so if you’ve not been chosen previously please do not give up applying - the next one may be your perfect dog.
Thank-you to everyone who supports what we do here - it means the world to us and the beautiful fur-kids seeking homes.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
