About Rubble
Introducing Rubble!
Rubble is a Maltese x Jack Russell born 20th November 2020.
Rubble was brought into the facility as an unmicrochipped stray. He was in desperate need of a wash & groom and sadly no one came looking for him. When we did our investigations we were able to find his owner, who then surrendered him for rehoming. His surrender form states he is not toilet trained, has no food aggression or separation anxiety and he doesn't travel well in the car. It also says he is friendly with children & adult strangers, not good with cats but is friendly with dogs.
When Rubble first arrived at the facility he was a very shy boy who tried to steer clear of most human interactions, however since then he has grown to love us all & is letting his sweet little personality shine! He's a very affectionate boy & wants to be with you as much as he can. He will stand on his hind legs and clap his front paws together in excitement, until you give him a back or belly rub. He will definitely be a lap dog if given the opportunity & would thrive in a family where he could be an inside companion.
Rubble had very mixed results when meeting other dogs. He was excited to meet a female puppy and mostly ignored her pawing at him to play.. however his patience quickly tired and he snapped at her to stop. He seemed fairly relaxed when meeting a larger male, however when the other dog let out a growl both dogs reacted badly towards each other. While Rubble would be fine passing by & meeting other dogs while out on walks/adventures, we feel he would be best suited to being the spoilt only "child" at home.
Rubble was mostly unfazed when meeting our facility cat Polly, however his little ears did perk up when she ran back to her room. Given this peak in interest & his surrender form saying "no" to cats, we feel he would be best suited to a home with no small animals.
Rubble is untested with pocket pets.
Rubble has shown signs of separation anxiety since being with us. While it is mainly while he's in his kennel and is mostly eased when he's in the exercise runs, this isn't always the case. We believe he would be best suited to a home where he can be with his humans more often than not.
Rubble has shown no signs of food aggression since being at the facility.

Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
